BP asked to resume drilling in Golf of Mexico

Following the 4.9 million barrels of oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico last summer by BP, it was reported by the New York Times that BP is seeking to resume its deep ocean drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

BP has asked US regulators to resume the oil drilling after it was halted because of the oil spill that also killed 11 workers.

The Nymex crude oil price, short term futures (May 2011 delivery) is traded at 107.95 USD / barrel, a 0.52 USD/b decrease or 0.48%, as of 10.58*.

The Dated Brent spot crude oil is at 120.16 USD / barrel – a 0.51 USD/ barrel decrease as of 11.09*.
