Floods in Mississippi River may impede transport of oil and gas

The recent news from the US report of a flood in the Mississippi river; the flood has reached Memphis but didn’t cause damage, and it moved south all the way to threaten Louisiana.

The Mississippi river has risen by over 15 meters (48 ft.) due to the heavy rainfalls and storms form the past few weeks.

This flood might affect major commodities prices including crude oil and natural gas prices as this flood might impede the delivery of these commodities throughout the US.
