The recent news from Japan’s turmoil about the nuclear reactor in Fukushima is that there is good progress in Japan’s efforts to tackle the nuclear reactor meltdown: the Japanese have managed to stabilize core number 3, bring back the power line to the cooling systems to cores number 5 and 6, and they will try to cool down core number 4 as the day will progress.
Up to now, Japanese officials state that the number of missing or dead could rise to well over 21,000 people.
There is an interesting interview with Mark Mervine, an expert of commercial nuclear power; the interview is about the nuclear power plant meltdown in Japan at the recent SGU podcast from March 16th (time of the interview on the podcast is 41:15).
