The Turmoil in Middle East continues – Yemen and Syria update

Yemen

The recent reports from Yemen are that there was an attempted murder on President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the current president of Yemen by a bombing of his palace in Sana’a. According to the current reports, He managed to escape the bombing with little damage and he will address the nation to show that he wasn’t harmed severely.

 

The opposition in Yemen is still trying hard to overthrow Saleh.

Syria

At least 34 people were killed in Hama, Syria after security forces opened fire on protestors against the current regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

The current Nymex crude oil price, short term futures (July 2011 delivery) is traded at $100.40 per barrel as of 17:46*.

The Dated Brent spot oil price declines by $0.41 per barrel and it is at $115.38 per barrel as of 17:57*.

Current gold price, short term futures (June 2011 delivery) is traded at $1,544.6 per t oz. a $11.9 increase or 0.78%, as of 17:48*.

Euro to US dollar conversion rate is currently traded up at 1.4634 a 0.9823% increase as of 17:58*.

 

The USD/JPY is traded down at 80.23 a 0.822% decrease as of 17:47*.
