U.S. initial claims fell last week May 19

The U.S. jobless claims report was published today and showed a decline in initial claims by 29,000 for the week ending on May 14th, as it reached 409,000 claims; the insured unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.0% for the week ending on May 7th; and the number of insured unemployment was 3.711 million, a decrease of 81,000 compared to the previous week’s number.

Currently, EURO/USD is traded up at 1.4264 a 0.1042% rise as of 17.12*

The Nymex crude oil price, short term futures (June 2011 delivery) is traded at 98.75 USD / barrel, a 1.35 USD/b decrease or 1.35%, as of 16.52*.

Current gold price, short term futures (June 2011 delivery) is traded at 1,489.0 USD / t oz. a 1.61$ decrease or 1.61%, as of 17.02*.
